About CPD + CPDA
The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions across the country. We currently work with more than 53 affiliates in 34 states and Puerto Rico, and build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision and advance a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. We are a rapidly-expanding, changing organization that partners with organizations across the country to build political power and win tangible victories that improve the lives of low-wage workers, immigrants, and communities of color.
About the Position
We seek an experienced campaign-focused Justice Transformation Campaign Director to support our affiliates and network in designing, implementing, and winning campaigns that defund the police, decriminalize and decarcerate communities of color across the country. Building deep, close relationships with core CPD/A affiliates who are focused on driving racial justice and criminal legal system transformation work;
Providing ongoing strategic campaign and organizing support to affiliates;
Helping to coordinate efforts with CPD/A’s Base-building, Organizing, Digital, and Communications Teams;
Working closely within the broader justice transformation and Local Progress teams at CPD/A to coordinate campaign, policy, training, and research development needs and opportunities, including close coordination with education justice team’s police free schools campaigns;
Represent CPD/A and the network at key national spaces and tables;
Carrying responsibility, with staff from other senior CPD/A staff and CPD/A’s Development Department, to fundraise to expand funding and raise/leverage sustained resources to the field.

About 12 years experience in progressive issue or budgetary campaigns, particularly at the local community level;
Strong progressive values, including a commitment to decarceration, with a fluency and understanding of the harms of policing, criminalization, and incarceration;
Experience and familiarity with digital and online campaign engagement;
Comfort and flexibility in this challenging period of remote communication, coordination, and supervision;
Experience managing large programs and projects and working across departments or teams within an organization;
Success as independent, self-motivated, and strong leader that is able to drive project and programs to completion in a fast-paced environment;
